Oxegen 2013 full line-up announced

oxegen 2013 line-up announcedThe full list of acts for Oxegen 2013 has been announced

Hailed as “Europe’s greatest music festival”, Oxegen 2013 has finally announced the acts which will grace the stages for this year’s festival debauchery. After a year and a half of anticipation, Ireland’s biggest music festival has made a grand return.

However it’s not to the delight of everyone. Changing the date from its trademark beginning-of-July weekend was bad enough but the line-up leaves little to be desired from what was once a rock festival.

The early release of acts leaked by Oxegen proved that the festival will continue with a hip-hop, rap and dance music theme as with previous years. At Oxegen 2011, there was a notable decline in the number of festival punters attending that year as opposed to other years. While Beyonce headlining on the Sunday did draw a sizable crowd, it wasn’t enough to inspire the festival to run the following year. Speaking to a crew member of MCD over the 2011 weekend, he said to this Feck TV reporter that there were already talks to shut down the festival for a year. He explained they would give it a break, a small bit of a makeover, maybe change the name as they did with Witness and bring it back, probably as an all-rock festival. We’ll let you judge for yourselves.

The full line-up includes;

  • Calvin Harris
