Ceol Nua: Hvmmingbyrd – Out of my Head
Hvmmingbyrd release new single Out of my Head
Alt-pop duo Hvmmingbyrd are back following a notable absence which included major line-up changes. Due to various life circumstances, the only remaining original band member is Deborah Byrne, who was joined by singer/songwriter/pianist Suzette Das in January. It has taken them no time to bounce back, with Out of my Head the first release from the pair.
With disturbance in the nest (pun intended), it’s interesting to see how it has impacted their sound, if at all. As it turns out, it hasn’t in the slightest, which is a testament to Deborah’s vision for Hvmmingbyrd.
Out of my Head offers the sweet pop sound with exquisite lyrics mixed with perfect melodies and harmonies.
Hvmmingbyrd could never be pigeon holed into one particular genre, and have produced a varied sound throughout the years; transcending beyond anything you can really define. Out of my Head is a chill out track, somewhat tribal sounding with that beautiful Hvmmingbyrd vocal.
While only working together a few short months, the new Hvmmingbyrd line-up is proving to be an interesting infusion.
The official launch is April 2 in Whelan’s, with I Am Niamh, Saramai and Lauren Ni Chasaide supporting it’s going to be quite the gig.
Hvmmingbyrd Out of my Head is available to buy on Spotify from today.
