Ceol Nuacht: Ballinamore Free Fringe Festival

The fifth annual Ballinamore Free Fringe Festival takes place this weekend

If you ever needed an excuse to escape city living and head to the green hills and beautiful countryside, this is the weekend to do it. Ballinamore Free Fringe Festival kicks off today!

Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim will be transformed this weekend to a haven of arts, music, culture and craic; or “Ceol, Culture and Craic” as their tagline clearly states.

From tonight, Friday August 21 to Sunday August 23, Ballinamore will come to life with the best bands/musicians, comedians, theatre, dance troupes and street performers from Ireland and abroad.

The line-up is nothing short of incredible, with appearances from Wolves of Youth, Étáin, Elevation Falls, The Klares, Aine Cahill and Youth Mass to name but a few.

Laugh your socks off to comedy from William Hamilton, Mustafa saed, Mary Flanigan, Pauric Gallagher (Host), Liam Hugh Sharkey and Luke McGibbon.

Arts will come in the form of a drum group, art exhibitions, spoken word and acoustic performances. Be sure to find many improv performances throughout the weekend.

This event has a stellar line-up and is tucked away in a rural setting where you can fully appreciate what talent is in our country. Camping is also available; bliss!
