Not going to Knockanstockan? Check out what else is on this weekend
Gigs on this weekend
Not everyone is lucky enough to be going along to Knockanstockan this weekend. Fear not, as there are some great gigs happening which should satisfy your musical appetite.
Tonight in Sin E, Chris Maxey presents a night of musical collaboration where musicians will guest on eachothers sets. This unique even kicks off at 8pm, and includes Pine Marten, NC Lawlor, Jem Mitchell and Alice Jago.
Quickly becoming one of Dublin’s favourite music nights, The Bootleg Project is on every second weekend in Foley’s bar, Merrion Square. On this weeks line-up, you will find Kate Dineen, Barry Jay Hughes and Cian. At only €5 entry charge with drink promotions throughout, it is definitely a good way to spend your Saturday night.
Whether you’re on the Knockanstockan come down, or simply want to end the weekend on a high, The Mercantile is where it’s at this Sunday. DJ Hazel Lake is hosting a night of cracking music for her birthday party, and the one year anniversary of her Noisy Plug radio show on Dublin City FM. A free event, the Triple Tipple will feature Anti-One, Rachael Mc Cormack, Funzo, Nella, The Dublin City Rounders and Decomposing In Paris with a special DJ set from Hazel herself. Talk about treating others on your birthday!
All of that is surely enough to make up for missing Knockanstockan…or at least soften the blow a little.
