Luke Clerkin releases new video for his song Ink Written Messages
Ink Written Messages is the latest video release from Dublin chanter Luke Clerkin. The video is the title track off his debut EP which was released on November 18th; going straight to number two in the Irish singer-songwriter chart.
It’s been an interesting two years from the musician, leading up to this pinnacle moment and eagerly anticipated debut. In 2015, Luke toured extensively, playing 250 gigs in twelve months all across Ireland. 2016 saw the singer take a step to the next level, releasing his debut single ‘Stones’ in aid of cycle against suicide and showcase his music across the pond at ‘You Bloom LA’. Ink Written Messages is a further step forward in the ambitious career of this youngster.
The EP itself is a collection of the finest songs from the 25-year-old’S repertoire. Capturing the raw energy, emotion and clear grá for Dublin that Luke holds, the EP tells a unique story of love, life and friendship.
In order to capture the magic that the city is renowned for , Ink Written Messages was recorded outside of the typical studio environment. It captures a raw live feel in the back room of a Dublin pub.
Shown through the story of a couple who fall in love in Dublin’s Temple Bar, the leading track ‘Home’ embraces the feeling of belonging that occurs when first visiting the city. ‘Home’ features the incredible vocals of up-and-coming singer songwriter Orlagh Kenny.
Wearing his heart on his sleeve, Luke bares all with this touching first effort. His emotive vocals bringing his passions to the fore in this charming arrangement. Luke has an innocent and genuine sweetness which is rare to find. A young man at the top of his game, he’s not afraid to pour his soul into his music, really allowing an insight into who he is. An avid supporter of his fellow musicians, it’s safe to say that when Luke reaches where he is going, he won’t leave his friends behind.
