The clean eating, fun loving, vegan twins from The Happy Pear are infecting us all with positivity one healthy meal at a time. If a daily morning swim in the sea while the rest of us clutch at the last few hours of slumber isn’t enough to convince you of their dedication to the cause, just look at their social media channels, cookbooks and their amazing restaurant in Greystones.

Strolling into The Theatre of Food on the first hazy morning of the Picnic, it’s indisputable; Dave and Stephen Flynn live by what they preach. What better way to wake up those hung over heads and shake off the cobwebs by eating up a good bowl of wholesome positivity. It would be hard to find a more hilarious double act than this pair, and they certainly brighten up our morning.

They treat us with a great introduction to their back story of how they became such big veggie fans before cooking up a storm with two different meals; a curry and banoffee pie. With continuous interaction including bringing three young triplets on stage to help with the demo, passing out tasters, telling stories and a meet and greet with the audience after, The Happy Pear held all of our attention throughout. Really selling the health food revolution through a positive mind set, they sure got the Saturday morning of Electric Picnic off to a good start.
